so i dont have to clean the stac room...

AVATAR- today i saw the movie Avatar. No, wait...to even call it a movie is doing it injustice...this was an epic adventure. going into the theatre, i thought that it would be another cruddy scifi movie...."yeah so some dude thinks he is an alien...big fricken woop...does it have wookies and ewoks..no!!!" Boy was i wrong. Even just in the begining of the movie the characters reveal themeslves through things that you did not see. They leave you with questions like who is he? why is he there? which is answered as the door pannels open to a breathtaking view of the alien world deamed pandora. I'm not going to spoil the whole movie for you but i will tell some of my favorite parts/things. Thing #1- no "filler" diologue- the dioogue was very poinant- it either answered questioins (and then gave you more) or it explored relationships betewwn characters. There was absolutely no cliche ohhh I love you sooooooooooooooooooo much. Instead their eyes did the talking and honestly as the movie goes on, you cant even tell that the main characters are aliens at all, they are just people learning about eachother. Thing #2- Awesome acting by the main character- this guy was just awesome. You really connected with him from the very start. If i hadnt seen pix of him standing up, you would have whole heartedly believed he was a cripple looking for some hope. Thing #3- The scenery GORGOUS! my favorite part of the scenery becides the epic views and beauty, was the fact that the poinant parts of the scenery were either extremely bland which only made them more interesting or they were lit. Not like a light from the heavens (although it was a sacred tree). It was sort of glowing in a divine way- it was what the tree of knowledge wishes it would look like)---altogether you need to see this film....in 3d none the less and pay attention to every detail of everything because credit is needed where credit is due and believe me this director deserves credit.

facebook groups(the rant---soon to be a feature film!!!...naaazzzz)

Facebook groups...whats up with thaaaaaaattttt? But no, it is not a laughing matter. You may remember back in the "good ol days" of facebooks where yeah, there were groups, but they were somewhat poignant, like pertaining to a economic policy or a political party. They were meant to unite people with the same interests together under one page where they could be unjudged by people of the same beliefs. Unfortunately this is not the case anymore. These groups have become an epidemic that infect all of our newsfeeds slowly eating away at the valuable space, so much that instead of where the extremely urgent message saying "Help!!! I'm trapped in a well" (which was surprising in the first place because you didn't know that wells still existed or why he posted this on facebook instead of contacting, like, the police or something, but I digress) now reads "such and such has joined the facebook group "hey, I'm in a well!!!". They aren't even funny! I don't know how anyone gets joy out of joining the group "I also have a tongue!!!!" They are nonsensical and just plain stupid. Not saying that there aren't any poignant groups still out there, but they have been overshadowed by the large blanket of stupidity. And what makes it even funnier is that people create GROUPS saying how stupid other GROUPS are which people join, thus creaing another annoying GROUP!!!!! HOW DOES THAT HELP AT ALL!!!!!!??!?!?!?!?!?1?!?!?!?1?1?!?1?1/1?1?1!

STEPS TO CURE THE EPIDEMIC: When you click on a group take a second to think- are you joining because you want to discuss the theory of relativity as related to the quantitative theory of matter or are you joining becasue you too have two opposible thumbs and want to reassure the world. If you chose the latter please take an extra moment to think-- does the world really need to know if I have opposible thumbs by me joining this group created by some 30 something year old guy who is probaily still living with his parents at their home, or should I go out and physically show the world through interpretive dance......(just a sugguestion)

SOME ACTUAL GROUP NAMES: Saying the entire alphabet because you cant remember what letter comes next, I'm sorry I don't say hi to you anymore because you don't say hi to me , I Stand In The Shower for An Hour Because I like Hot Water. RA RA RA AH AH AH, ROMA RO MA MA, GAGA OOH LA LA. if all the lyrics i've memorized were facts, i'd be a genius.Waking Up & Seeing You Still Have Time Left To Sleep.Apples taste better when they are sliced. If Girls Have Period Pains, Guys Should Be Kicked In The Balls Once a Month.

SO PLEASE HELP TO STOP THIS EPIDEMIC BEFORE IT SPREADS AND CONSUMES THE WORLD....=)

THE MORE YOU KNOW!!!!

that sweedish romantic horror flick

1.
The backstory to this movie reveals to us that Oscar is a lonley, disturbed kid. Its funny becasue with the minimal diologue, you are still able to determine what kind of person Oscar is.

2. There is litttle to none camera movement in the whole movie. If the camera moves, it moves slowly and shakily, but not much.

3. During grusome scenes or where the whole of the scenery becomes important to understand the scene, the camera zooms waaaaay out, however during a scene with alot of diologue or a scene where minor details become important, the camera seems right infront of the character.

4. A character can be developed by their attitudes, body language, body structure, and dress.

Ex of how the director changed a character physcially --- Oscar's body type- has broader shoulders from working out more twords the end of the film.

5. Sound in this movie is used instead of gore... so instead of seeing a multilated body, you hear fangs going into someone's neck. Sound is also used during "imporant" or key parts of the movie, to emphasize its importance. Sound is never wasted. The worst parts of the movie are the parts you create for yourself.

6. Hakan- He seems to actually care for Eli---although i dont know their relation (is he observing her(him???.....lets stick with "it") as a scientist or is he a relative of Eli's? He appairently didnt care about the consequences of caring for Eli, seeing as he went on a murder spree to feed Eli.

7. i don't exactly know the signifigance of the puzzles but the scenes when we see the puzzles are when Eli and Oscar first meet and when Eli reveals that she/he is a vampire.

8. i believe Plot point 1 to be where Eli and Oscar meet. She/he is the one that convinces oscar to change himself by working out and standing up to the bullies thus changing the course of the movie.

9. Plot point two i think is where Eli reveals to Oscar that he/she is a vampire....the rest of the movie from then on explores their relationship.

10. Yeah, this is indeed a happy ending....Eli and Oscar are together and all seems to be well.....for now atlest.

drops of jupiter- train- a ballodesque song- killer piano- its like a sung poem

simple song-miley cyrus- its a guilty pleasure......its not deep....its not that good of a song.....its just damn addictive!!!!

stuffed like a bird.....which i ate

Hey everyone, hope you guys had an awesome turkey day/weekend. Right now im not sure what exactly to say due to the combination of overindulgence and holy jolly cheer. I know thanksgiving is supposed to be a time of thanks and whatnot so first im gonna say something cliche and hopefully then get to someting that you want to read......im thankful for my family/friends/i pod/unfaling sense of humor. Now that, that is out of the way, i want to try and delve into what thanksgiving is all about. Thanksgiving is time where families get together to talk about the most important things....like the football scores and hannukah. That's all thanksgiving seems to come down to in present day, overindulging ourselves in a large bird and discussing presents while rooting for our favorite teams. Not that this is a bad thing, but it seems like thanksgiving has really lost its meaning with all of the stupid modern gimmics. All I am saying is that we should not only try to put the thanks in thanksgiving by saying how much you are thankful for your dog snuggles, but by putting the giving back in thanksgiving and just try to do something that you wouldn't ordinarily do, and give. Now im not saying that you should sell your house and give all of your money to Mr.Shaly the homeless guy down the street, but how about dropping a line to someone who is lonely, like a grandparent. Or how about instead of spending time playing your brand new video game, spend some quality time with your dear old mum. Small things add up.

the penultimatum

honestly not much to say. Today was our penultimate session with Joy. We got the final kinks out of our monologues and they are all honestly spectacular....(in my opinion at least).

I dont know if it is just me being me, but everytime i act, i think that i suck. Not just oh im being melodramatic, but that everthing i act as comes out suckish. This (hopefully) is not the case but whose to say its not. This actually could be just a kick in the ass saying that i really need to get into gear if i actually want to get anywhere in life. As my mom always says "What is going to seperate Alex Katz from Alex Katz from Alex Katz?" I guess you could say that where ever i am, i strive for somewhere better. What ever i do, i know that someone somewhere had done something better then that, and i just need to beat it. Its a never ending cycle that one day i hope to defeat, thus begining my Nirvana.......If you are into that stuff that is.

not much to say

Currently i've been reading the acclaimed novel The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy . It truly is an enthralling book with a very strange cast of character. From a maniacally depressed robot to a rockstar who decided to be dead for a year for tax reasons, this book never ceases to amuse. But that's not what i want to talk about. What i want to talk about is the reoccuring sub plot, that life, the universe (in its mindboggingly biggedness), and everything, fits together like a jigsaw puzzle, and that everything is pre determined (or post determined depending what time you are in......it gets quite confusing). It got me to wondering, what if this is really true? Is there anything we do to stop it, or will our every action, no matter how random it may be, be already recorded in the confines of history itself? Or perhaps, we may actually be able to change our destiny, thus changing ourselves and everyone around us?
I would honestly like the world to work this way, but it may not . However i wont let the predeterminedness of the universe stop me from being me and caring what happens...or i might....whatever the future tells me to do.......or someting along those lines........
